Piglet aka Piggie (Real Name Brutus) (Neutered)

Piglet, a handsome 8-year-old neutered male Pit Bull Terrier/Red Heeler mix, arrived at HSOV in late January 2024. He was found as a stray but later revealed to have been intentionally left by his family, with his real name being Brutus. Piglet has a striking short, smooth coat with red/brown ticking, a large patch on his right side, a long tail, and a symmetrical face with amber eyes, a liver nose, and large floppy ears. He weighs 64.2 lbs and walks with a strong pull on the leash. Despite his initial unknown origins, Piglet has shown himself to be a spirited dog, eager for fun and adventure.

Ideal Home

Piglet would thrive in a home where he can be the "only child" or with a family who understands his needs. He is NOT good with children, especially when food is involved, and he is NOT good with cats, as he has shown he will cause them harm. He is tolerant of other dogs, but prefers those who are not overly boisterous or "in his face."

Ongoing Health

Piglet was neutered on March 23, 2026, and received a rabies vaccination.

Training & Support

Piglet can be strong on the leash, so continued training for walks would be beneficial. His specific behavioral needs around children and cats are a critical consideration for any potential adopter.
