Oscar is a sweet young Labrador mix with a big heart and a joyful spirit. He is about 1 year old and weighs 32 lbs. Oscar is very social with children, men, and women, and he builds trust almost instantly with everyone he meets. He loves being around people and enjoys spending time with other dogs. Playtime is one of his favorite things, and his friendly personality makes him an easy dog to fall in love with. Oscar has a small neurological tic due to distemper, noticeable when he is resting, but it does not affect his happy life or his loving nature. He is looking for a caring home where he can grow, play, and share all the affection he has to give.
Ideal Home
Oscar would thrive in a home with a fenced backyard and an active family that enjoys outdoor activities. Families should have a genuine intention to rescue a dog, with an open conscience about the needs and behaviors of rescued animals. Previous experience with dog behavior and training is preferred, or a willingness to hire a professional trainer. High tolerance and patience for rescued puppies are a must. Please note, Oscar is not house-trained.
Ongoing Health
Oscar has a small neurological tic due to distemper, which is noticeable when he is resting. This condition does not affect his happy life or his loving nature. He has received a full health protocol including spay/neuter, DHPPI and Rabies vaccines, Bordetella vaccine, deworming, microchip, 4DX test, heartworm test, and monthly Nexgard Spectra preventive. A health certificate and vaccine booklet are provided.
Training & Support
Oscar is not house-trained and will require patience and consistency in a new home. Families should be prepared to invest time in training and understanding his needs as a rescued animal. It is essential to provide a safe and loving environment, establish a routine, and set clear boundaries to help him feel secure.

Applications to adopt Oscar start by contacting us through Wags. The process includes filling out an adoption form, providing photos/videos of your home, a virtual meeting with the pet, reference checks, and signing an adoption contract. The adoption fee covers vet care, spay/neuter, vaccines, microchip, and food.
Transporation
Oscar is currently being fostered in Saltillo, Mexico, and is ready to travel to the East Coast on a scheduled cross-country trip. Door-to-door delivery is available for an additional $400 USD transport fee. These trips occur 3-4 times per year with a minimum of 15-20 adoptions per trip. A contracted transport company handles the journey, ensuring all necessary legal documents, including a USDA health certificate, are provided. Real-time updates will be shared through a private Facebook Messenger group, and the transport team will conduct a final home review upon arrival.
