Honey

Hello there! My name is Honey and I'm a sweet 12-year-old Chihuahua mix weighing about 9 lbs. I'm a beautiful brown and white girl with long legs and a heart full of love to give. I came to my foster home as an owner surrender, but please know it wasn't because of anything I did wrong. My previous family had to make some tough choices.

When I first arrived, I had a little bump on my tummy that needed to be removed. After a couple of weeks of wearing a cone, I was finally cleared to play in the yard, and oh boy, do I love to play! I zoom around like a little rocket until I'm all tuckered out. I also enjoy saying hello to neighbors on their walks. Cuddling is my absolute favorite thing to do, even if I'm not a fan of what my foster mom is watching. I'm a bit too old to play with toys, but I do enjoy a good game of "hide the toy" from the other dogs! I'm working hard on my potty training and doing a great job, according to my foster mom. I sleep soundly in my crate all night, I sit when asked, and I come when I'm called.

Ideal Home

I would absolutely love a home with a fenced-in backyard where I can get my zoomies out! I also hope to have another dog friend (or two!) in the home, but too many dogs can make me forget my manners.

Ongoing Health

I'm all spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, and heartworm negative.

Training & Support

I'm working on a couple of habits: I can be a bit protective of my food and my human. I sometimes growl when other dogs get too close to me or my bowl when food is around, and I also let other dogs know that my foster mom is my human! Don't worry, I have great listening ears and I'm making wonderful progress with my foster mom's guidance.
