JR came to the shelter after his owner had a change in housing, and the shelter has been a hard place for him. He is one of those dogs who feels everything deeply, and while he may not be the dog doing big, flashy things right away, he is exactly the kind of dog who will make your heart swell with every small, brave win. JR came in with a few other dogs and is now the only one still waiting. For his first few months, he kept to himself and did not quite want to leave his kennel. But little by little, he has been getting braver every day, taking new steps, trying new paths, and showing the kind of quiet progress that feels incredibly rewarding to witness. He is the kind of dog who reminds you to slow down and enjoy the little things. With JR, flourishing might look like a short walk, a tiny tail wag, or choosing to follow you somewhere new, and somehow those moments feel huge. He is a sweet, soulful guy who is scared of the shelter environment but full of potential outside of it. Give him a chance, and you will get to watch him bloom. JR is a 3-year-old, 77lb neutered male with a brindle and brown brindle coat.
