Norma Jeane is a delightful 8-ish year old, 10lb poodle with a spirit as lively as her name suggests! Originally listed as 10 by the shelter, our vet estimates she could be as young as 7, and she certainly acts the part with her playful energy. Norma's world revolves around fetch; her perfect day includes endless games of ball with short naps in between. She requires a family dedicated to playing fetch at least four times daily.
While Norma is wonderful with people, she has a special fondness for young children who are gentle and respectful. She enjoys following them around and engaging in play. She's not much of a cuddler, preferring active engagement or her own independent time. If you're seeking a snuggle buddy, Norma might not be the one, but if you want an enthusiastic companion ready for any adventure, she's your girl! Her energy level is medium; she's not built for marathon walks but would enjoy accompanying you on outings, perhaps carried or in a stroller. Once indoors with her beloved ball, she's ready for action!
Norma shows no signs of separation anxiety and is non-destructive when left to her own devices. Her only training need is with potty habits; she'll go outside if the door is open, but may have accidents indoors if not supervised. She's reliably potty trained in her crate, making it a great option when you're away. She travels well in cars and loves looking out the window. Norma coexists peacefully with other large dogs, largely ignoring them. She'd be content with another calm, laid-back dog or as the sole canine in the household, but she doesn't appreciate overly energetic dogs invading her space.
Ideal Home
Norma Jeane needs an adopter committed to playing fetch with her at least four times a day. She adores young, respectful children and would likely thrive in a home with them. She prefers a calm canine companion or would be perfectly happy as an only pet.
Ongoing Health
Norma Jeane has successfully completed heartworm treatment. She was not spayed prior to treatment as her heartworm was the priority. Arrangements will be made with the adopter for her spay surgery before she leaves our rescue.
Training & Support
Norma is still working on her house training. While she signals her need to go outside by "dancing" at the back door, she may have accidents indoors if not closely supervised. She is crate trained and does not have accidents in her crate.
