Annie

Annie is a sweet, spunky Shih Tzu and poodle mix pup, about 3-4 months old and weighing in at 7 lbs. She's estimated to reach around 20 lbs when fully grown. Annie is an affectionate and loving girl who absolutely adores being doted on. She's curious by nature and is always the first to investigate new things, making her a confident explorer of the world around her. A true social butterfly, Annie loves meeting new people and doggy friends. Her friendly and social nature makes her a wonderful pup for an active family that enjoys including their furry companion in everyday life. Annie has a laid-back demeanor that's perfect for a family looking for a pup that can adapt easily to different environments and enjoys fun adventures. She's always happy as long as she's with her humans, whether she's playing with her foster siblings, cuddling, or chasing her toys. Annie has a great balance of playful energy and laid-back cuddliness, enjoying both active fun and relaxing on the couch. She's also great at entertaining herself when her foster mom works from home, keeping busy with her toys or napping. Annie's adaptable personality means she'd fit beautifully into a variety of homes. She'd love an active family who enjoys walks, exploring new places, spending time outdoors, and including their dog in daily activities. Equally, she'd be happy with a family that enjoys cozy evenings at home filled with snuggles and quality time.

Ideal Home

Annie is medium energy with short bursts of puppy excitement, which are easily managed with brief exercise and play sessions. Her favorite activities include mental stimulation games with treats, exploring the backyard, and playing with her toys. She also loves playing with other dogs, and her face lights up when she meets a new furry friend. While she enjoys canine companionship, she's also content to entertain herself with toys. She's looking for a home with a toy box full of goodies and would be thrilled to receive new surprises to keep her engaged, especially as she begins to teethe. As she grows and masters leash skills, she'll be excited for adventures beyond the backyard, like neighborhood walks or longer nature trails. Annie is dog, cat, and kid-friendly and has been living with both large and small dogs of various ages. She loves to play with other dogs and would be a wonderful addition to a home with another playful dog, or she'd happily be the center of attention. If she's the only dog, regular playdates or doggy daycare would be beneficial for continued positive social interactions. She understands doggy communication and respects boundaries, but might be too energetic for a senior dog. Annie would do well with kids of all ages and would love to play fetch and cuddle with them. She's very loving and playful, so more people to shower her with affection is always a plus. She would do best with older children who are experienced with smaller breeds and know how to handle her gently, as she can be wiggly when excited and picked up. Annie's ideal home would include her in daily family life with plenty of love, exercise, and attention. A fenced yard is ideal for her to run and play. She'd thrive in a home with another playful, friendly dog and children to interact with, but would also be content as an "only child" receiving all the love. Public dog parks are not recommended for Annie. She would love to go on outings around town or visit Sniff Spots. A family member who works from home or has a hybrid schedule is ideal, but if not, a dog walker or doggy daycare is recommended for longer work days.

Ongoing Health

Annie is up-to-date on age-appropriate vaccinations, microchipped, and on flea/tick/heartworm prevention. She has received a health certificate from a licensed veterinarian and any necessary vet care while in rescue. A $200 spay deposit is required, which is refundable once she is spayed.

Training & Support

Annie is kennel trained and potty trained. She sleeps in her kennel at night without issue and will nap in it during the day with the door open. She is starting leash training and enjoys going on outings in her doggy pouch. She needs continued practice to perfect her leash walking skills. She alerts her foster family when she needs to go outside by circling at the back door. Using a doggy doorbell is recommended to help her learn to communicate her needs. She requires a consistent schedule and initial frequent potty breaks, but she adjusts quickly to new routines. She would love to snuggle up in bed with her humans every night for cuddles.

Transporation
