Michelle was rescued from a high-kill shelter and is now thriving in a foster home in Houston, Texas, eagerly awaiting her second chance at happiness. She's incredibly friendly, affectionate, and loves to socialize, especially with other dogs, sharing her days with her foster siblings through playful antics and cozy naps. While she's enthusiastic and sometimes gets carried away during play, she's not aggressive and is learning to read her canine companions' cues.

Michelle has a heart full of love and would thrive with another friendly dog. She enjoys playtime and needs a family that can offer her love, structure, and plenty of fun. Due to her enthusiastic jumping when excited, a home with children 12+ or dog-savvy teens would be ideal.

Training & Support
Michelle is a smart cookie who is motivated by food and learns quickly! She's already housebroken and crate-trained, even choosing to relax in her crate during the day. While she's generally a well-behaved girl, she can be a bit of a food scavenger and does best when fed separately and given guidance at snack time. She responds well to redirection, especially when her excitement leads her to try and sneak a treat. She's also working on leash manners, as she tends to pull a bit. Continued leash training and structure will help her master this. Michelle loves to chew, particularly on outdoor treasures, so supervision and crate time when unsupervised are recommended. She's also an escape artist and can scale fences, so a secure yard or consistent leash walks are a must. Despite her adventurous spirit, she can adapt well to apartment living with consistent exercise and enrichment.
