Clifford

Clifford is a sweet, approximately 8-year-old, 82-pound mixed-breed pit bull who was found as a stray and brought to NYCACC. He wasn't adjusting well to shelter life and was thankfully rescued by a patient foster. Clifford is a bit of a shadow, following his foster mom everywhere, and has blossomed from a frightened pup into an affectionate companion who loves cuddles and pets. He has a calm demeanor and is quite the couch potato, not being an active dog.

Ideal Home

Clifford would do best in a calm and loving home, ideally outside of the city, as he is easily scared by loud noises. He's also not the dog for someone seeking an active companion. He needs a slow approach when meeting new people and can be scared by yelling or screaming.

Ongoing Health

Clifford has a chicken allergy and can only eat fish-based food, such as Wellness Fish based food. Chicken irritates his skin.

Training & Support

Clifford is house-trained and also uses wee-wee pads. He is great on a leash. His foster is unsure if he is crate-trained, as he sleeps on a dog bed. He has made significant strides in trust and affection since being in foster care and needs continued patience with new people.
