Dex is a 1.5-year-old American Staffordshire Terrier mix who is smart, loyal, and affectionate. He bonds deeply with his people and is happiest when he feels included and secure in his home. Dex loves to play, especially tug of war and games of catch, and he plays well with dogs of all sizes. He is patient, respectful, and thoughtful in his interactions, backing off immediately if another dog is not interested in playing. On leash, Dex is excellent, walking calmly without pulling and showing no reactivity to other dogs. He is intelligent, eager to learn, and responds well to training, enjoying structure and having a job to do. Dex is fully house-trained and crate-trained, happily going into his crate when asked and sleeping through the night. He can also be left out in the house when his energy needs are met and does not exhibit destructive behaviors.
Ideal Home
Dex has a strong prey drive and is not suitable for a home with cats or small animals. He would do best in an adult-only home or with dog-savvy teens who understand boundaries, as he can take time to warm up to new people and may growl when unsure. He would thrive in a home with adult adopters who enjoy walks, outdoor time, and continuing his training.
Ongoing Health
Dex has no ongoing health conditions noted.
