Vanna

Meet Vanna! Vanna is an approximately 4-year-old, spayed and vaccinated German Shepherd mix with a heart as big as her personality. She's a playful and affectionate "velcro dog" who adores being close to her people. Once she bonds with you, she's happiest right by your side, whether you're relaxing at home or off on an adventure. Vanna has medium energy levels and would thrive in an active home. She loves a good game of fetch and going for walks, and she's a great car rider, making her a fun companion for outings. At home, she's trusted to roam freely and isn't destructive, as she simply wants to be near her favorite humans.

Ideal Home

Vanna is best suited as the only dog in the home. She can be playful with very well-matched, larger dogs (around 90 lbs or more) if there are no resources to guard or compete over, and she's good at reading cues when another dog is done playing. She's not a fan of smaller dogs and can sometimes be reactive on leash depending on how other dogs behave toward her. Vanna is reserved with strangers initially but is friendly and warms up with time. She hasn't been around children yet, but she may do well with older children (12+) who can respect her space and boundaries.

Ongoing Health

Vanna has experienced significant trauma and is actively working on negative behaviors around other dogs. She has some resource guarding issues with food, toys, and people.

Training & Support

Vanna needs continued support with leash manners and is still polishing up her potty training, with occasional accidents. She is crate trained. With patience, consistency, and understanding, Vanna has so much potential to continue growing.

Transporation

Transports run every few weeks, and approved dogs will be on the next available transport. If you are not able to accept a dog until a specific time period, please apply at that time.
