Captain

Captain is a handsome 10-year-old, 99 lb, neutered male Great Pyrenees - Border Collie mix looking for his forever home. He came to us when his beloved owner passed away and has adjusted wonderfully to his foster home. Captain is a gentle, laid-back, and well-behaved boy who absolutely adores being petted. He's a very friendly soul and a true sweetheart.

Ideal Home

Captain is wonderful with children of all ages and gets along great with other dogs, including smaller ones. He also coexists peacefully with cats, ignoring them, squirrels, and rabbits.

Ongoing Health

Captain has some arthritis in his left front leg, for which he is on Galliprant. He recently had a mass removed and biopsied, which thankfully came back benign. He is otherwise in good health.

Training & Support

Captain is crate-trained, housebroken, and trustworthy. He never chews or gets into the garbage! He's treat-motivated, smart, and a people-pleaser with excellent recall. While he's not particularly interested in toys, he responds well to commands like "out of the kitchen." As a Great Pyrenees mix, he will bark to alert you to things out of place or when coyotes are around. He enjoys leisurely leash walks and can keep up with other dogs for a while, though he tires before younger pups.
