About George and Piper
Meet George and Piper! George is a devoted three-year-old Great Pyrenees/Saint Bernard mix, and Piper is a joyful two-year-old Pharaoh Hound/American Pitbull Terrier mix. Together, they are a heartwarming study in contrast and connection. George, with his quiet strength and soulful gaze, and Piper, with her spark, resilience, and endless affection, are a bonded pair looking for their forever home.
George, at 112 pounds, is a beautiful blend of loyalty, intelligence, and quiet strength. Though his early life was harsh, he has spent the last 15 months with a foster family who helped him rediscover safety and love. He's not a dog who demands constant cuddles, but rather one who quietly lays at your feet or settles beside you. His affection is deep and truly unforgettable when shown.
Piper, at 31 pounds, is compact but full of life. Once neglected, she now radiates joy, trust, and boundless energy. She loves people, delights in play, and excels at cuddling close! Her favorite games include keep-away, and she greets familiar faces with an infectious mix of wiggles and tail wags. Piper is house-trained, crate-trained, and knows sit, down, and stay. While she thrives with activity, she’s also content to snooze beside her favorite person or pup.
Ideal Home
George thrives on predictability and needs a calm, structured environment with guardians who understand that trust is built over time. He is not suited to apartments or small condos and needs room to roam, think, and feel secure. Piper is friendly to strangers, wonderful with children, and very good with other dogs. While she may need slow introductions with cats or small animals, her gentle spirit suggests she'll learn with patience and care. Piper is sensitive to loud sounds like fireworks and thunder and will appreciate a cozy retreat when things get noisy.
Ongoing Health
George had one fear-based bite incident during a meet-and-greet when a visitor moved too quickly into his space and patted his head, a sensitive area for George due to past trauma. In a separate instance, George snapped (without making contact) when a new person leaned in face-to-face with him in an unfamiliar environment, a clear signal that he needs space and time to feel safe before close physical contact. A professional trainer evaluated him and confirmed that George is not aggressive but is a sensitive, thoughtful dog reacting in ways consistent with his breed and background. His compassionate trainers have kindly offered to support his future family with video or phone consultations.
Training & Support
George is house-trained, leash-savvy, and knows several commands like sit, down, shake, easy, and stay. He responds beautifully to gentle guidance and clear routines. Piper is house-trained, crate-trained, and knows sit, down, and stay.
