Winy

Winy is a charming male Labrador Creole mix, approximately 1 year old and weighing around 30 lbs. He's a loving, intelligent, and obedient pup who is also incredibly playful and joyful. Winy was rescued in March 2024 in Saltillo, Mexico, after being found with his siblings in a field. He's social with people, children, and other dogs, enjoying playtime, walks, and runs. While he might be a little shy when meeting new people, a little affection will quickly win him over, and he'll melt into your arms. Winy is also described as docile, loyal, and incredibly affectionate. He is crate and leash trained.

Ideal Home

Winy would thrive in a home with owners who have a fenced backyard and are active, enjoying outdoor activities. Families should have an open mind about the needs and behaviors of rescued street animals, requiring protection and education. Experience with dog behavior and training, along with high tolerance and patience for rescued pups, is preferred. Winy is NOT house-trained.

Ongoing Health

Winy has received a comprehensive health protocol, including a spay/neuter certificate, DHPPI and Rabies vaccinations, Bordetella vaccination, deworming, and is microchipped. He has also tested negative for heartworm and 4DX. He receives monthly preventive treatment with NexGard Spectra for fleas, ticks, and heartworm, and comes with a health certificate and vaccination booklet.

Training & Support

Winy is crate and leash trained. However, it is important to note that he is NOT house-trained. Prospective adopters should be prepared for the ongoing work and patience required to house-train a rescued dog.

• Engage in a virtual meet-and-greet with Winy and his foster.
• A trial adoption period may be included.

Transportation

Winy is currently being fostered in Saltillo, Mexico. He is available for transport to the East Coast of the United States. The adopter will be responsible for a transport fee of $400.00, which covers the service by a transport company and is payable prior to the pet's departure. Transport will deliver Winy to the adopter's home address.
