Meet Gigi!
After three years on the streets and raising more litters than any dog should have to endure, Gigi has emerged with a heart full of soft, gentle sweetness. This 35-pound beagle mix is quiet and observant. She's good with people but a little shy initially, which is understandable given her challenging past. With a little time and kindness, she blossoms, leaning into comfort as if she's always been waiting for it.
Gigi is excellent with other dogs and finds great comfort in their presence, so a home with a confident canine companion would be ideal for her. However, her survival instincts haven't completely faded. She is a flight risk, making a securely fenced yard an absolute necessity. This means a solid, dependable fence, not just supervision or a tie-out. She knows how to take care of herself, and that includes knowing how to escape.
What Gigi needs now is the opposite of her past: stability, patience, and a safe haven where she can learn to simply be someone's beloved dog.
Gigi is incredibly dog-friendly, affectionate towards adults, beautifully house-trained, sleeps soundly in her crate, and is not afraid of storms. While she doesn't harbor animosity towards children, she can startle easily and her immediate reaction is to flee. Therefore, she would do best in a home with teenagers and older children.
Ideal Home
A home with a securely fenced yard is a non-negotiable requirement for Gigi. She would also thrive with a steady canine companion. Given her tendency to startle and flee, a home with teenagers and older children is recommended.
