Davidson

Meet Davidson, a sweet and gentle 3-year-old, 53-pound Labrador mix lovingly called Davie. He's learning that the world can be a safe place after arriving with us extremely underweight and carrying the emotional scars of past abuse. He will need a patient and understanding adopter to help him continue building confidence.

Davie is timid and easily startled, tending to shut down rather than react when scared. He has shown no signs of aggression, only fear, and responds best to calm guidance and positive reinforcement. He can be nervous around men but is making progress with his foster dad, allowing pets and slowly working on leash training. He has started wagging his tail and even doing a tiny gallop when he feels brave. Davie has shown friendly interest in the foster puppies, happily sniffing noses through their pen and wagging his tail. He is crate trained and doing well without accidents.

Ideal Home

Davie will likely need a very secure environment. His adopter will need to be diligent with leashing, gates, and other safety precautions.

Ongoing Health

Davie arrived underweight and will need continued care to ensure he maintains a healthy weight.

Training & Support

Davie is timid and easily startled. He responds best to calm guidance and positive reinforcement. He is crate trained and house-trained.

Transportation

Davidson is located in Houston, TX, but can be transported to most states for an additional fee of $300.
