Gordo

Gordo is a sweet boy who has been at the shelter many times before, but he always manages to find his way back home. This time feels different, and Gordo can sense it. He paws at the fence, hoping to escape back to his old life. When he's unsure, Gordo leans fully into your legs, which is incredibly endearing. His heart can mend, but only if he gets back to life in a home and out of the shelter for good this time.

Ideal Home

Gordo would love a home where he can feel secure and loved. He thrives on gentle reassurance and will lean on you when he needs it.

Ongoing Health

Gordo is up-to-date on vaccinations and will be spayed/neutered before adoption.

Training & Support

Gordo is not yet house-trained. Slow, cautious, and appropriate introductions are recommended if you have other dogs, after allowing Gordo time to decompress from the shelter environment.

Application Details:

• Applications start by contacting us through Wags.
• All household members should be present to meet dogs.
• Dog-to-dog meet and greets can be arranged. Proof of up-to-date rabies vaccination for your dog(s) is required.

Transportation

Gordo is currently located at Chicago Animal Care and Control, 2741 S. Western Ave., Chicago, IL. Walk-in visitors are welcome daily from 12 pm to 7 pm. If you plan to adopt, please arrive before 5:30 pm.
