Waffles

Waffles is a 2-year-old, 75 lb, neutered male yellow Labrador with a heart full of love and energy to spare! He came to us as a stray with a story etched in his past, found with a collar embedded in his neck and wounds on his legs. Thankfully, after a bout of kennel cough that developed into pneumonia, Waffles has made a full recovery thanks to a rigorous antibiotic regimen and supplements. Now, he's back to his exuberant self, romping and playing at Diesel Ranch.

Ideal Home

Waffles is looking for an active home with plenty of space to run and play. He's not suited for apartment or condo living. A home with a pool, river, lake, or even the ocean would be his dream come true! Due to his enthusiastic nature, Waffles is not recommended for families with children under 10, as he can be quite a bulldozer. He needs a home that can provide structure and guidance, and he would do best with humans who have experience with dogs. Waffles should not be left alone for extended periods.

Ongoing Health

Waffles has fully recovered from his past injuries and ailments. He is up-to-date on vaccinations, microchipped, and heartworm negative. He was recently neutered.

Training & Support

Waffles is currently learning leash manners and is enthusiastic about meal times and greetings, often with a playful bounce. He is mostly house-trained but may have an occasional late-night accident if his needs aren't met promptly. He's working on "sit," "stay," and "down," and readily comes when called, sometimes with a joyful crash! Waffles is known to counter-surf if food is accessible. He is not a picky eater and enjoys his meals quickly. He gets along well with other dogs and is happy to meet new canine friends on walks. He tends to jump up on people when first meeting them, but it's purely out of excitement and happiness. Having a dog trainer available for support would be beneficial. We do not have information on how Waffles is with cats.
