Freckles, wiggles, and a happy little hop in her step – that's our Pippi Longstocking! She's a petite, bright-eyed girl with a spunky sweetness that makes her see the world as her playground. Estimated to be around 2 years old and weighing 37 lbs, Pippi is a happy, medium-sized dog with energy to spare and a heart full of love. She's a staffie-style mix, but as always with rescue, her breed and birthday are our best guess.
On leash, Pippi walks at an easy pace and responds well to gentle correction. When she receives affection, she gets almost giddy with enthusiasm – it’s like a confetti cannon of wiggles! With other dogs, Pippi is friendly and confident. She enjoys playing with higher-energy, confident dogs, especially females, but is also good with males. If the vibe isn't right or her energy isn't welcome, she's happy to move on. She responds well to structure and benefits from clear boundaries, so she'd do best with a dog who can advocate for themselves rather than being a pushover. Pippi crates well without any fuss.
Ideal Home
Pippi would thrive with an active family who enjoys movement, play, and a dog who greets each day with celebration. While her response to cats was mixed and inconclusive, we'd love to see her in a home setting with a cat or two to get a full understanding of her approach to feline friends.

Transporation
Pippi is located in Texas. We facilitate nationwide adoptions using our USDA-certified transport system, ensuring safe and comfortable travel for every pet. Drop-off locations are available in WA, UT, OR, ID, VA, PA, OH, NY, CT, VT, TN, KY, WI, MN, IL, WI, and Canada (with pickup in Bellingham, WA, Buffalo, NY, or Brattleboro, VT for Canadian adopters). An $87 surcharge applies to cover transportation costs. Texas adopters must pick up from the Houston area.
