Amber

Amber is a 5-year-old Maltese weighing just 10 pounds, looking for a loving forever home. She came from a puppy mill, so she is still learning that people can be kind and trustworthy. Amber can be timid at first, but she is making progress every single day with patience, love, and gentle encouragement. She gets along wonderfully with other dogs and especially loves her best friend, Betty. The two of them run and play in the fields together and are constant companions indoors and outdoors. Amber uses puppy pads, rides nicely in the car without getting sick, and takes treats very gently from your hand. She also enjoys curling up in your lap and being softly petted.

Ideal Home

Amber would do best in a home with another friendly companion dog due to the companionship and confidence she gains from other dogs. She needs a calm, patient home that understands she needs time to fully blossom after the years she spent in a puppy mill. A physically fenced yard is required for her safety, as she is considered a flight risk. Invisible/electric fences will not be considered.

Amber is up to date on vaccinations and spayed.

Training & Support

Amber is working on gaining confidence and learning to trust people. She needs continued patience and gentle encouragement. She uses puppy pads.
