Once Poppy feels safe, her affectionate side really shines. She forms strong bonds and enjoys being close to her person on her own comfortable terms. Poppy thrives with routine, structure, and mental enrichment. She loves activities like structured play, sniffy walks, and learning new cues.

Ideal Home

Poppy does best in a calm, predictable home with an experienced adopter who understands sensitive dogs and uses patient, positive reinforcement. Busy environments can be overwhelming for her, and she benefits from clear boundaries and managed exposure to new situations. Poppy would be happiest in an adult-only home, ideally as an only dog, or with very careful introductions.

Poppy is located at the Santa Cruz SPCA at 2601 Chanticleer Avenue, Santa Cruz, CA 95063. We are open Tuesday-Sunday from 11 AM to 5 PM.
