Meet Louie, a handsome young hound mix born around April 8, 2024. Louie is ready to leave his challenging past behind and find the loving forever home he truly deserves. He was found abandoned at a local golf course along with two other dogs. After a period in foster care, Louie arrived at our shelter eager for a fresh start filled with hope and second chances.
Louie is a bundle of energy, curiosity, and personality! His nose is always leading the way as he explores the world with enthusiasm. As is typical for his breed, Louie can be vocal at times, but beneath that is an incredibly sweet and affectionate companion who is eager to bond with his new family. He is still young and learning, so he's looking for a patient and understanding family committed to his continued growth. With consistency, structure, and positive reinforcement, this handsome boy is sure to blossom.
Ideal Home
Louie would thrive in a home with plenty of space for him to run and explore. A fenced-in yard is a must, allowing him to safely follow his incredible nose. He needs a patient family that is familiar with hound breeds and puppy energy. Unfortunately, Louie would not be a good fit for a home with cats.

Louie has been neutered and is fully vetted.
