Ridge is an 8-month-old Anatolian Shepherd who, despite a rough start in a hoarding situation, has blossomed into a sunny and social pup. He's playful, friendly, and clearly happy to have found his way to us. Ridge enjoys the company of people and other dogs, and he's even shown to be good with cats! He's still a puppy, but he's already a large, opinionated one who's growing into an even larger, opinionated adult. His adopter will need to understand the Anatolian Shepherd breed and be prepared to offer consistent structure.
Ridge is not a dog who's dwelling on the past; he's embracing the present with enthusiasm! He's decided that life is pretty great, dogs are fun, people are wonderful, cats are acceptable, and that the Roomba is a suspicious, demonic floor creature that should be approached with extreme caution.
Ideal Home
Because Ridge is young, large, and still mastering his coordination and his brain, we recommend a home with children over 10 years old. He will also need a securely fenced yard. This dog is not suited for apartment living or a lifestyle that relies solely on casual leash walks. Prospective adopters should understand that an Anatolian Shepherd is a substantial dog, and Ridge is well on his way to becoming a very large adult. Be prepared for his size and presence!
Ongoing Health
Ridge is a young dog with no specific ongoing health concerns mentioned.
Training & Support
Ridge is a social and friendly pup, but as he's still learning to navigate the world, he'll benefit from consistent guidance and clear boundaries. Bonus points if your home has a vacuum that stays in the closet and if any robotic floor cleaners have already made peace with their existential dread!
