Meet Lola! This loving, 1.5-year-old, 60-pound pittie has been let down by humans multiple times. When she came to us, she was heartbreakingly described as "Free dog. Need to get rid of her." Since then, several foster and adoption placements have unfortunately not worked out, leaving Lola to wonder if she'll ever find her forever family.
Despite her past experiences, Lola is an incredibly affectionate, loyal, and loving dog who longs for a stable home. She enjoys being close to her people, whether that's curling up on the couch, leaning in for belly rubs, or just knowing you're near. Being with her person is where she feels safe, and she thrives on gentle reassurance. Lola is a smart cookie, highly motivated by treats, and eager to please. She's already crate trained, house trained, and knows commands like "sit," "paw," and "down." Training boosts her confidence and gives her a sense of purpose.
Ideal Home
Lola would do best with an experienced adopter who understands that building trust takes patience and commitment. She needs a home with teenagers or adults, as she can get mouthy when excited and is quite strong. A securely fenced yard, at least 6 feet high, is preferred because Lola is an athletic jumper. She has shown to be fine with cats and loves other dogs.
Ongoing Health
Lola is spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, and heartworm negative.
Training & Support
Due to past upheaval, Lola has some behaviors rooted in insecurity. She is working on leash walking, impulse control, and separation anxiety. She can also become overly protective once she forms a strong bond. These behaviors stem from her past experiences and are not indicative of a "bad dog." She responds best to calm, consistent leadership.
