Hart

Hart is a 5-month-old Border Collie/Great Pyrenees mix with a sweet face, a good brain, and all the puppy charm you could ask for! He's friendly, social, smart, and an all-around excellent young dog. Hart enjoys people and other dogs, and he's doing a great job navigating puppyhood. He's still a baby, so he'll need the usual puppy basics: structure, training, patience, supervision, and a family dedicated to helping him grow into the wonderful adult dog he's clearly on track to become.

Ideal Home

Because he is a young, active mix of two intelligent breeds, Hart needs a securely fenced yard where he can safely run, play, explore, and burn off his puppy energy. He will do best with a family that appreciates a bright, engaged dog and understands that smart puppies are always learning, including the things no one officially meant to teach them.

Training & Support

Hart is a great puppy and is on track to become an even more wonderful adult dog! As with any puppy, he will benefit from consistent training, socialization, and plenty of patience. Raising a puppy is equivalent to having a human toddler, and it takes at least a full year to achieve a calmer, well-adjusted dog. Please be prepared for the time, effort, and potential expenses involved in potty training, crate training (until he's about a year old to prevent chewing), socialization, and obedience training.

Transportation

Hart is located in our shelter in the South. Transportation can be arranged to approved adopters in the Northeast and other select areas.
