Jersey is a sassy, spunky girl with a heart full of love to give, despite her distinguished graying muzzle! She's been patiently waiting for her forever home for a year now, and we're determined to find the perfect match for this special lady. Approximately 7 years old, Jersey came to us from a local shelter and has blossomed in her foster home. She enjoys supervised playtime with other Danes, but she's not a fan of overly boisterous or in-your-face canine companions. Jersey would thrive in a home with laid-back dogs or those well past their puppy stage. Ideally, she'd love to be your one and only canine confidante, soaking up all your attention! She's proven herself a rockstar at adoption events, showcasing her well-behaved public demeanor. While she hasn't had much experience with cats, her noticeable prey drive suggests a cat-free household would be best.
Ideal Home
Jersey would do best in a home with other laid-back dogs or no other dogs, and a home without cats. She enjoys her people but will retreat to her bed when she needs space. A fenced-in yard is ideal for her zoomies, but she walks well on leash and with the right family and a plan for exercise, she would likely be just fine. She has no recall, so leash walks would be required in lieu of a fenced-in yard.
Ongoing Health
Jersey was heartworm positive upon arrival but has successfully completed treatment and is now heartworm-free. She is fully vaccinated, spayed, and microchipped.
Training & Support
Jersey is kennel trained and house trained. She rides well in the car and loads up without assistance. She's quick to alert to "stranger danger" like wildlife, so be prepared for her watchful eye!
