Meet Rex!
Rex is a medium-sized mixed breed with a sweet, sensitive soul and a heart full of love. This handsome boy is looking for a patient, understanding family that will appreciate him for the wonderful dog he is.
One of the first things you'll notice about Rex is how excited he gets when he sees someone he knows and loves. His joy can be hard for him to contain, and he may have a brief burst of enthusiasm when greeting familiar faces. The good news? Once he's gotten his excitement out, he's happy to settle down and go about his day.
Rex is currently learning leash skills and making great progress. He enjoys going for walks and exploring the world around him, but if you ask Rex to choose between a walk and a grooming session, he'll probably pick the brush every time! This boy absolutely loves being brushed and soaks up the attention.
Speaking of brushing, Rex's coat is currently a work in progress. When he arrived at the shelter his fur was heavily impacted, and we've been working with him daily to gently remove it bit by bit. Thankfully, Rex is incredibly cooperative and sits (sometimes even sits in a chair!!) beautifully for grooming sessions, making the process much easier. Because of this, he'll need an adopter who understands that regular coat maintenance will be an important part of his care and is willing to keep up with his grooming needs.
The effort is well worth it. Beneath all that fur is a truly good dog-gentle, affectionate, and eager to be loved. Rex is the kind of companion who forms strong bonds with his people and thrives with kindness, patience, and consistency.
