Mia

Mia is a sweet 9-year-old pittie mix with the softest fur and a heart full of love to give. She was a local save who unfortunately needed a new home when her young human sibling developed allergies. Despite attempts to keep her with her family through doggy daycare, walkers, and friends, Mia truly needed a more consistent environment.

After experiencing the confusion and trauma of multiple caregiver changes, Mia can be a little weary of strangers and takes her time to warm up. But once she sees you as a friend, get ready for an outpouring of affection! She'll lean into you, shower you with kisses, and happily roll over for belly rubs. Mia is a smart cookie who knows tricks like "sit," "paw," "other paw," and "down," and she takes treats ever so gently. She's perfectly content to snuggle up on the couch and be petted. Mia has also been dog-friendly with proper introductions and with tolerant dogs, though she can sometimes be a bit much for others.

Mia would thrive in a home that can provide her with consistency and patience as she continues to build trust. She is looking for a home that understands her need to warm up to new people.

Mia is spayed, vaccinated, and has no known ongoing health conditions.
