About Lola : The Tragic Story of a Mama Dog

At just 2 years old, this sweet lab mix girl Lola has already overcome so much, yet she remains one of the sweetest and most gentle dogs you could ever meet. Rescued from a high-kill shelter in Houston alongside her newborn puppies, she showed nothing but trust and kindness toward everyone. Sadly, her puppies were quickly taken, and Lola found herself at risk of euthanasia. However, her calm, loving, and easygoing nature made her a staff favorite, and she found help to leave the shelter.

Lola's foster family described her as "the best dog in the universe." She is quiet, well-mannered, affectionate, and wonderfully easy to handle. She settles beautifully into home life and enjoys being near her people. Lola currently lives with another dog and young children, and she does wonderfully with both. Her fosters mention that she did not do well with very tiny animals, and she has been in boarding for the past two months, where the staff adore her and consider her extremely smart and obedient. Lola weighs around 45 pounds, making her the perfect medium-sized companion with a calm and gentle presence that would fit beautifully into almost any home.

Ideal Home

Lola would thrive in a home where she can be close to her people. A fully fenced yard is a must, and electric or underground fences are not accepted. She has done well with other dogs and young children, but she is not suited for homes with very tiny animals.

Ongoing Health

Lola is spayed, microchipped, and fully vaccinated. She is kept on heartworm and flea prevention.
