Pop

Hi there, I'm Pop! I'm a super happy pup with incredibly soft fur and adorable white markings on my nose. I absolutely love to snuggle and find the warmest spots, like near the oven, especially when it's cold out – I have a special love for snow! My fur is a bit thicker than most pitties, hinting at some Border Collie in my lineage, which makes me extra fluffy. I came from New Mexico with my brother and sister when I was very young, so my early memories are a bit hazy.

I'm proud to say I'm potty-trained and will let you know when I need to go out by resting by the door. I'm also kennel-trained, though I admit I'm not a fan of being confined. I've proven I can escape and tend to bark when kenneled, but I promise I won't cause any mischief if left out when no one is home – I just prefer not to be in there. At night, I love to be as close to my foster mom as possible for warmth and snuggles.

I'm a smart cookie and know how to "sit," "stay," and "come," and I'm working hard on "down" and "off." Food is my ultimate motivator, especially peanut butter and yogurt! While I don't get table scraps, I do get plenty of tasty treats, and I'll do just about anything for them. I can be a bit overenthusiastic when taking treats, but with gentle guidance and the command "gentle," I'm improving quickly!

I get along wonderfully with other dogs and am my foster brother's official emotional support dog – he likes to be close to me at all times! I also enjoy playing with my almost two-year-old, 55lb foster sister, engaging in games of tug, keep away, and chase. My almost four-year-old, 96lb foster brother is recovering from surgery, so I'm learning to be gentle with him, but I still enjoy his company. Wrestling, zoomies, and tug-of-war are my favorite games with my canine companions. I also love exploring on walks around the neighborhood.

Why am I the very best dog in the whole world? I'm intelligent and eager to learn, I want to be friends with everyone (though I take my time warming up!), I love to snuggle and be adored, and I'm always up for an adventure. I'd make an excellent hiking buddy and travel companion. Ultimately, I just want to be with my people, have a dog friend, and live the best life possible!

What would my dream day consist of? A morning walk followed by a delicious breakfast, lots of playtime, a good nap, a mid-day snack, more playtime, an afternoon nap, dinner, playtime, snuggles, and a final potty break before a cozy night.

What general knowledge TV or movie character am I most like? Puff the Magic Dragon, because my foster mom made up her own lyrics to the song just for me!

What are some of my favorite toys? I love stuffed toys and hard plastic chew toys. Anything that allows for a game of tug is also a huge hit!

Play all day or cuddles and snoozes? I enjoy playing as much as possible, with plenty of long naps in between!

What makes my body wiggle and my tail wag harder than anything? When my people come home and let me out of my kennel – it's party time!

Ideal Home

I'm looking for a family with older, dog-savvy children, another friendly dog to be my companion, and an active lifestyle. Sleeping in bed with my people is a must!

Training & Support

I'm working on being gentle when taking treats and am still a little shy with new people, especially children. I may bark a bit initially when meeting new faces, but I mean no harm and warm up quickly, often showering them with kisses. With a little patience and understanding, I'll be your best friend.
