Ginger Peaches the Little Best Friend

One look at those floppy little ears, that tiny compact body, and those sweet soulful eyes and you're done for. Ginger Peaches has this absolutely precious mix of tiny little baby and big dog energy that is impossible not to love. She's a perfect medium-small size, easy to bring along on adventures, easy to snuggle, and fully convinced she belongs directly beside her person at all times. She loves hard, bonds deeply, follows you everywhere, and acts like your return home was the greatest moment of her entire life. Her foster absolutely adores how excited she gets when they come home, because Ginger genuinely knows how to make her people feel special.

Ginger Peaches is believed to be a pit bull/chihuahua mix, approximately 11 months old and weighing 31 lbs. With rescue, breed and age are always a mystery, but whatever combination created this tiny girl absolutely nailed it. She has features that make you think "pittie" mixed with little dog qualities that make you question everything at the same time.

Ideal Home

Ginger Peaches is the type of dog that will thrive most with someone excited about having a true companion always by their side. She has been around kids ages 12 and 16 and has done great with them, being affectionate, sweet, and comfortable. While she hasn't been around younger children, her personality suggests she has potential to do well with them. She does get a little sad when she's away from her humans for long periods and prefers not to be left alone for extended amounts of time. Ginger would love a nice backyard where she can run full speed, but can also thrive in an apartment setting as long as she's getting proper exercise, socialization, and playtime.

Ginger has done well with dogs of various sizes and personalities. She tends to be a bit shy initially and prefers a slower burn when meeting new dogs. She gravitates toward calmer dogs and is very mindful and respectful of other dogs, especially those who are older or have special needs.

Training & Support

Ginger is crate trained, potty trained, and knows commands like "sit" and "shake" (she even shakes with both paws!). She has a balanced energy level, enjoys playtime and toys, but isn't hyperactive 24/7.

• Texas adopters must pick up from the Houston area.

Transporation

We facilitate adoptions nationwide using our rescue run USDA certified transport system. Transport includes drop-off locations in WA, UT, OR, ID, VA, PA, OH, NY, CT, VT, TN, KY, WI, MN, IL, WI and Canada (pick up in Bellingham, WA, Buffalo, NY or Brattleboro, VT for Canadian adopters). You will have the opportunity to track their journey in real time, see photo updates, learn fun facts, and connect with fellow adopters and fosters through a private Facebook event page.
