A true survivor with a heart of gold, Brie is a stunning 3-year-old livestock guardian breed who weighs just over 60 pounds. Despite a rough start to life, including being heartworm positive and experiencing hair loss, Brie has blossomed into a beautiful and resilient dog. Her fluffy coat has regrown, revealing the gorgeous girl she is, inside and out. Brie is an independent thinker, fiercely loyal, and naturally protective, which are hallmarks of her breed. She takes her time getting to know new people, but once she trusts you, she'll be a devoted companion.
Ideal Home
Brie would thrive in a home with a securely fenced yard where she can safely explore and enjoy the outdoors while still being an integral part of the family. She is looking for a home with older children who understand how to interact respectfully with dogs, as she hasn't been tested with young children. While she has done well with other dogs with slow introductions, it would be easiest to place her in a home as an only pet, especially for adopters who can't meet her in person with their resident dogs beforehand. She is not looking for an outdoor-only home.
Ongoing Health
Brie has fully recovered from being heartworm positive and has regained her beautiful coat. All dogs are vetted by a licensed veterinarian, spayed/neutered, up-to-date on age-appropriate vaccines, and microchipped.
Training & Support
Brie is still learning about indoor living, but she has shown great promise in her kennel, keeping it clean and not destroying her bedding. With a little patience and consistency, she is expected to adjust beautifully to home life. Experience with livestock guardian breeds is a plus, but a family excited to learn about what makes them special is also welcome. Squirrels definitely catch her attention, and she has not been tested with cats.

Transporation
Brie is currently located in South Mississippi and can be transported to New Orleans or Pensacola for an additional fee. Local adopters can pick her up in Gulfport, MS.
