About Paris
Meet Paris (ACCT-A-254305)! This sensitive soul is looking for a patient and loving home where she can truly shine. While the shelter environment can be a bit overwhelming for her, Paris shows her sweet side to those who approach her with a gentle touch and perhaps a few tasty treats.
Paris is a dog who appreciates the quieter things in life. She is a bit of a wallflower who prefers peaceful spaces over busy ones. Once she feels comfortable in a calm environment, she begins to relax, loosening her body and even leaning in for some affection. She is a smart girl who is very treat-motivated, which helps her build confidence when making new friends.
When it comes to other dogs, Paris has shown a social and curious side. She has been seen being "wiggly" and neutral during interactions, enjoying the chance to sniff around and explore with a canine companion. She is also good at communicating her needs and appreciates other dogs who respect her personal space.
Because Paris can be fearful in stressful situations, she is looking for an adult-only home with experience in helping shy dogs acclimate at their own pace. If you have a quiet household and a heart full of patience, Paris would love to meet you and show you what a wonderful companion she can be!
Behavioral Notes
07/02/2026 per staff: briefly met another dog outside for a dog meet. they were both neutral and wiggly while sniffing the grass near each other. Paris approached to sniff the other dog's face then disengaged after a few seconds. They continued sniffing near each other and Paris remained loose as the other dog walked passed her while she sniffed.
07/02/2026 per staff behavioral eval: Kennel Presentation: sitting in the crate when i approached with soft eyes and ears to the side. Tossed a few treats and she ate them.
Leash Skills: hesitated to come forward when i opened he crate and presented the leash. Spoke softly and she came forward. Once out her eyes were darting, tail down tightly and hyper vigilant. Made it only a couple feet and she started to pull back. She was on her hind legs and paws on the door to the surgery hallway. Followed the way she wanted to go and walked down the quiet hallway to the volunteer office. Her body loosened in the quieter area.
Sociability: exit searching in the volunteer room. Kept going to the door we came in and jumping up on it. Allowed handling and leaned in for a second and then went back to pulling at the door.
Play: n/a
Dog Interaction: met another dog. Avoidant and tolerant of the other dog sniffing her. Snarled when the other dog came on strong face to face and backed away. Sniffed the other dog with a stretch body at a distance.
Return to Kennel: she went right into the crate before i could pull up the stopper. I reached in to pull up the stopper and remove the leash and she snarled. I called her back out of the crate, dropped treats on the ground and was able to clip the leash. She went right back into the crate and slipped the leash off.
Color Level: blue
Recommendations and considerations: not foster or day trip eligible. Quiet and calm home that has experience acclimating with fearful dogs. Adult only home preferred
