Meet Zena!

Zena is a spirited five-and-a-half-year-old American Pitbull Terrier/German Shepherd mix who embodies loyalty with a striking black-and-white coat. This large girl, weighing around 80 pounds, brings enthusiasm and affection to every day. She can be a bit cautious with new people, but with patience, kindness, and treats, she quickly warms up and becomes a devoted companion. Zena has a history of living harmoniously with children aged 9-18, cats, a small puppy, and rabbits, showing a particular gentleness with cats. While she can be selective with unfamiliar dogs, positive introductions can help her make new canine friends. Zena loves to run, explore, chew on antlers, and enjoy treats. She knows commands like "sit," "paw," and "lay down," comes when called, enjoys car rides, and is always ready for an adventure, whether it's a hike or a walk. She thrives with plenty of space to move and an active family.

Ideal Home

Zena would do well with a physically capable guardian who is committed to continuing her leash-training journey, as she can pull hard when excited. She thrives when she has room to move and a family who enjoys an active lifestyle.

Ongoing Health

Zena is spayed, microchipped, and up-to-date on vaccinations. She is in good health, though she experiences some anxiety during veterinary visits, which is managed with medication.

Training & Support

Zena is house-trained and knows commands such as sit, paw, and lay down. She comes when called. Consistent positive reinforcement and continued leash training will help her succeed.
