Sally

My name is Sally, and I'm a sweet 7-year-old, 25-pound girl. I came to Homeward Bound after my owner passed away, and then I was passed around by family members. I've been diagnosed with SARDS, which has caused me to lose some of my eyesight, but I've adapted wonderfully and navigate my foster mom's house and yard with ease. I can even manage steps! My foster mom thinks I might have a little bit of vision left, as I don't bump into things and get around quite well. I'm otherwise very healthy!

Ideal Home

I'd love a home where someone is around most of the time, or can take me to work or doggy daycare. A mellow dog or cat companion would be great too, as I enjoy company. While I love kids of all ages, a home without very young children would be best, as I can't always see where I'm going.

Ongoing Health

I have SARDS, a condition causing sudden vision loss. I've adapted well to this, and my foster mom believes I may retain some vision.

Training & Support

I am good on a leash and enjoy walks. I thrive on being with my people and can get sad if left alone for long periods, though I'm not destructive.

• We are an all-volunteer rescue and do not have a physical facility. All our dogs are in foster homes.
• Once your application is reviewed, you'll receive an email invitation to attend an adoption event.
• Adoption fees for dogs over 2 years old are $295.

Transportation

I am currently in a foster home in Schenectady, NY. We can arrange transport for approved adopters within a reasonable distance.
