Dixie is a sweet, smart, and affectionate female Terrier mix, born on February 28, 2026. She's the darling baby of Pixie, her mom who weighs 7.6 lbs, and with a dad estimated between 8-10 lbs, Dixie is expected to remain a petite adult. Dixie is a bundle of joyful puppy energy, absolutely adores tummy rubs, and thrives on human attention. She's a quick learner, mastering the doggie door at just six weeks old, showcasing her ability to pick up new routines rapidly. Dixie would do wonderfully with another young, playful dog as she enjoys companionship and active play. She is currently up to date on vaccinations. Dixie will be available as a foster-to-adopt puppy until she is old enough to be spayed at approximately 6 months old, at which point her adoption can be finalized.
Ideal Home
Dixie will thrive in a home that offers plenty of time, patience, and continued puppy training. She needs a safe environment designed for a small-breed puppy, with ample play, enrichment, and affection. Ideally, she would have another young dog to match her energy. She is not suitable for homes with children under 5 years old.
Ongoing Health
Dixie will be spayed at approximately 6 months old. She is up to date on vaccinations.
Training & Support
Dixie is already showing great promise! She is crate trained, sleeps through the night, and is mostly house trained (occasional puppy accidents are to be expected). She is dog-social and enjoys playing with her foster brother. Dixie is a chew-toy enthusiast and is also playpen trained and ramp trained to safely get on the couch. Her quickness and eagerness to learn suggest great agility potential. When unsupervised, Dixie knows to go to her playpen for a treat, and she eats her meals there, reinforcing structure and good habits.

Dixie is located in the immediate Austin area and can only be adopted locally due to our thorough adoption process which includes home visits and a trial adoption period.
