About Arthur
Arthur is a 5-year-old, 78-pound neutered Staffordshire Terrier/Retriever mix with a big personality and an even bigger heart. This handsome boy is the perfect combination of playful adventure buddy and affectionate cuddle companion. He was found roaming around a park with some other dogs and was brought to the county shelter before a foster stepped in to help him. Arthur approaches every day with enthusiasm and enjoys playtime, exploring, and spending time with his people. He's moderate energy and loves to be involved in family adventures. Arthur is house-trained and crate-trained, settling nicely in his crate for extended periods. He also rides beautifully in the car and absolutely LOVES car rides! Personality-wise, Arthur is outgoing, playful, curious, affectionate, and incredibly sweet. He enjoys toys, loves spending time with his people, and is always happy to soak up attention and affection. He thinks if he can fit, he can sit! Arthur may pull at first on a walk but settles into the routine and does well.
Ideal Home
Arthur's ideal home is one that can provide regular exercise, structure, and plenty of opportunities to be part of the family. He would thrive with people who enjoy including their dog in everyday adventures. While he doesn't need another dog to be happy, he has interacted successfully with dogs of various sizes and enjoys playing, being good at reading social cues. Arthur has also been around cats and pot-bellied pigs and has shown curiosity without aggression. He has spent time around a young child and done well, but due to his size and excitement, he could accidentally knock over a small child during play. He would do best with a family that understands his energetic nature and can provide appropriate outlets for his enthusiasm.
