Otis is a charming 2-month-old, 10-20 lb bundle of joy, a mix of Golden Retriever and Labrador Retriever, with an estimated birthdate of April 20, 2026. He's one of nine adorable puppies from a litter whose mother is a beautiful Golden Lab mix. Sadly, due to unexpected circumstances and limited resources in Northern Manitoba, Otis and his siblings were surrendered and brought to us to find their loving forever homes. Otis has been raised in a home environment and has been exposed to children and other dogs, which has helped him develop a friendly, social, playful, and affectionate personality. He's a happy-go-lucky pup who is just starting to explore the world around him and exhibits all the normal, curious behaviors of a puppy. He's currently beginning to learn crate training and sleeps with his littermates. Otis rides well in a car and is not a food aggressive dog. He is still learning about the world and will need continued exposure to new people, places, and experiences to build his confidence and become a well-socialized family pet. He is highly food-motivated and eager to learn, which will make training a rewarding experience.
Ideal Home
Otis needs a home with a yard where he can explore and play. He is not suited for apartment living. While he doesn't strictly need another dog, he would likely enjoy the company of a canine sibling. His future family should be prepared for normal puppy behaviors, including chewing, especially when teething, and will need to provide him with safe chew toys and redirect him appropriately.
Ongoing Health
Otis has not yet been spayed or neutered, but this will be a requirement of his adoption.
Training & Support
Otis is currently working on crate training and house training. His new family will need to continue working on these and focus on socialization and basic manners. Patient, committed adopters who understand the time, supervision, consistency, and positive reinforcement needed to help a young puppy grow into a well-adjusted adult dog will help Otis thrive.
