MAXIMUS (MAX)

Maximus, or Max, is a handsome boy who had a loving home and a family until his person was sadly diagnosed with cancer and passed away. His person's friends tried to find him a new home before she passed, but sadly, they weren't able to, and he ended up at a high-kill shelter.

Max was very much loved and enjoyed all the comforts of home. He previously lived with another dog, a black lab, and has been around other dogs, including small dogs like a poodle. In his current temporary foster home, he's also been friendly with a Dachshund. He's reportedly been good with children, but it's important to note that he does have a prior bite incident. This could have been related to the immense stress of losing his person, or perhaps a prior illness, but due to this, we are looking for a home without small dogs or children. Max is a powerful boy, so he would do best with a savvy handler. He reportedly did well with shelter staff and techs, even under duress, and was also well-behaved during a vet visit.

His current caretaker says he is a sucker for scratches and walks with a real swagger! Max is house-trained, well-behaved, crate-trained, and rides well in a car. He is vaccinated, vet-checked, neutered, and microchipped, ready to start a new beginning with a loving person and a safe home to help heal his heart.
