Meet Rowan, a tiny gentleman who looks like he might be a lab/pittie mix, though he's surprisingly compact for his estimated 39 pounds. At around 1 1/2 years old, he's settled into a wonderfully calm age. Rowan is a gentle, quiet, and sensitive soul. He's not one to demand attention but prefers to quietly observe and offer companionship. He can be a bit shy and nervous in new situations and around new people, needing time and patience to feel safe and build trust. Once he's comfortable, his quiet presence is incredibly rewarding, offering peaceful coexistence.
Ideal Home
Rowan would thrive in a calm environment with patient individuals who understand that shy dogs need time to decompress. A home with a yard in a quieter setting would be ideal, as busy apartment living might be overwhelming for him. While he hasn't been formally tested with children, older, calm kids would likely be a better fit. We can certainly conduct a kid-test for interested adopters.
Ongoing Health
Rowan is up-to-date on all his vetting, including DAPP with booster, Bordetella, and Rabies vaccines, multiple broad-spectrum deworming treatments, and flea prevention. He also receives a 12-month injectable heartworm preventative and has been tested for heartworms. He is microchipped with free lifetime registration.
Training & Support
Rowan was respectful and easygoing with other dogs during his assessment, handling introductions calmly. He seems more interested in observing than roughhousing. We provide extensive behavioral testing and information from our on-staff trainers, and our dogs receive individualized behavior plans, including crate training, potty training, and leash walking, as needed.

Rowan is currently located in Houston, Texas. We facilitate adoptions nationwide with our USDA-certified transport system, ensuring safe and comfortable travel. Our transport includes drop-off locations in WA, UT, OR, ID, VA, PA, OH, NY, CT, VT, TN, KY, WI, MN, IL, and Canada (with pickup options in Bellingham, WA, Buffalo, NY, or Brattleboro, VT).
