Meet Josie, a sweet and loving companion who is ready to be the mostie member of your family! This delightful Staffordshire Terrier mix, estimated to be born around October 26, 2023, and weighing about 41 lbs, is the perfect cuddle buddy for any occasion. Josie loves to play with her toys, snuggle with her foster siblings, soak up the sun, and she has a particular fondness for chicken nuggets! She has been living harmoniously in a foster home with children and does wonderfully with them.
Josie has seamlessly acclimated to her foster home, impressing everyone with her good manners. She is already potty trained, walks beautifully on a leash, and knows commands such as "sit" and "stay." Being very treat-motivated, she is eager to learn, obey, and become a cherished part of your pack. She gets along exceptionally well with other dogs, especially playful ones. Snuggling up on the couch is one of her favorite activities, and she's quick to catch a snooze there. While she's content sleeping on the couch or going for long walks, her absolute favorite thing to do once she's rested is to go for car rides – and she gets them often, being such a perfect car-riding companion!
Josie was rescued from a county shelter where she was facing euthanasia due to overcrowding. She arrived as a neglect case, emaciated and clearly having had a rough start. She has come a long way and is still working on gaining a few more pounds, but she is now ready to find her forever home.
Ideal Home
Josie would thrive in a home that can continue to provide her with love, playtime, and cuddles. She has shown great success with children and other dogs.
Ongoing Health
Josie is fully vaccinated, microchipped, and spayed. She is still working on gaining a bit more weight.
Training & Support
Josie is kennel and potty trained and knows basic commands like "sit" and "stay." Her treat motivation makes her eager to learn and continue her training journey.

Transportation
Josie is located in Houston, TX. Transportation is available out of state. Pickup locations for transported dogs may vary, including across city, county, and state lines. We coordinate with multiple transport services that operate weekly to Eastern states and bi-weekly or monthly to Western states from Texas to your state or a neighboring state. These are ground transports using third-party vehicles (vans/buses) converted for dog transport. Each adopter has the ability to track the van using the app Life360 and receives updates from transport along the way. Facebook chats are another resource to stay informed on tracking dogs on transport. Please be able to use one of these available services if you wish to follow your adopted dog on transport.
