Macie is a 5.5-month-old bundle of energy and intelligence! She's a survivor who, along with her littermates and mother, was found abandoned on a cold January night. Thankfully, they were rescued and are now thriving in loving foster homes. Macie is bold, brilliant, and embodies the spirit of her herding breed. She's endlessly curious, always on the go, and eager for adventure. Macie loves to play, especially with canine companions who can match her zest for life. She's a quick learner, constantly engaged, and ready to live her life to the absolute fullest!
Ideal Home
Heelers are highly driven, athletic, and intelligent dogs that require significant structure, training, and enrichment to thrive. Without these, they can become frustrated or nippy. We are seeking adopters who understand the needs of this breed and are committed to providing Macie with a life full of activity, purpose, and consistency. She is not a couch potato and will grow into an incredible, loyal, and hardworking companion for the right person. Macie enjoys playing with other dogs who can keep up with her energy, but finding the right match can be challenging without a meet-and-greet. For this reason, she might be best placed as an only pet for out-of-state adopters. Due to her energy level and natural herding instincts, she would do best in a home with older, dog-savvy children.
Ongoing Health
All dogs are cleared by a licensed veterinarian for transport and will arrive spayed/neutered with age-appropriate vaccines and microchipped.
Training & Support
Heelers are smart dogs but need consistent guidance and outlets for their energy to prevent frustration, nipping, or being labeled as "too much." Adopters should be prepared to provide ongoing training and enrichment.
