Buttons is a gentle, pint-sized companion looking for a quiet home to fill with his devoted presence. This 1-year-old, 8-pound male Chihuahua is as cute as his name suggests. He's a uniquely calm boy who rarely barks, finding the noisy rescue environment a bit overwhelming for his sensitive soul. Buttons truly blossoms in peaceful surroundings and is looking for a home where he can relax and let his true personality shine.

Ideal Home

Buttons dreams of a quiet, low-key home where he can feel secure. Loud noises and high energy can make him nervous, so a calm household would be his absolute ideal. He does well with other smaller dogs who share his gentle demeanor, making him a great potential companion for another little pup.

Ongoing Health

Buttons is fully vetted, neutered, and up-to-date on all essential vaccinations (Rabies, DHLPP, and Bordetella). He has been dewormed and is on monthly flea, tick, and heartworm prevention. He will be microchipped and receive a fecal exam and health certificate within 10 days of his transport date.

Training & Support

Buttons is crate trained and settles down nicely for nighttime sleeping. He also rides quietly and safely when crated in the car. He is still learning the ropes of housebreaking and will need a patient adopter willing to help him establish a routine; he does go potty immediately when taken outside. While Buttons is generally well-behaved, he occasionally has "happy puddles" or "stage fright sprinkles" when he gets nervous or excited. His rescue is hopeful this will decrease as he settles into a secure and predictable routine, especially now that he is neutered.
