Elmo

Elmo is a sweet, resilient, and quietly brave 10-month-old Great Pyrenees mix. He came to us after being shot in the hip, with the bullet lodged near his spine. Thankfully, it has since become completely encapsulated, and all the specialists agree that attempting to remove it would be far riskier than leaving it alone. This does not define Elmo’s future; he is healthy, comfortable, and expected to live a long, happy life. He greets the world with trust and calm and is ready for a safe home with soft beds and an ample supply of snacks.

Ideal Home

Elmo would do best skipping the extreme sports. He enjoys his walks, his people, and his canine friends. He is good with other dogs and loves people. He has not lived with cats and showed some mild interest in them, so dog-savvy cats would likely be fine. We recommend kids over 10 or sturdy kids, as we want them to be old enough to understand Elmo's medical issues and not treat him like a pony. Elmo would thrive in a home that understands he does not need to be an adventure athlete to be a wonderful companion.
