Cade

Heddo! My name is Cade, and I also respond to "Big Stinky!" I’m a 5-year-old, 90-pound American Bulldog who's been patiently waiting for my forever home for FOUR YEARS! I was rescued by Samson's Sanctuary after being found abandoned in Azusa, CA, in April 2022. Despite my size, I have a heart overflowing with love. My favorite pastime is lounging on the couch, belly-up and completely relaxed. While I can be a little reserved around new men, needing a gentle introduction and often preferring a female presence initially, my loyalty and affection once I trust you are boundless. I make fast friends with those who earn my trust, and I absolutely love going on adventures with my foster dads!

I’m an enthusiastic explorer who adores hiking and splashing around in water. Sniffing out new scents and discovering what’s around the next corner is my jam! I take my time on walks, savoring every moment and proudly parading any large stick I find. I’m independent but enjoy companionship and prefer my humans to be home, though I don’t need to be in the same room constantly. I’ll happily rest my head on your lap or even squeeze in for some butt scratches. While I prefer being petted on my back initially, I’ll let you know when I’m ready for head pats. I get along wonderfully with other dogs my size and smaller, provided they’re friendly, but I do tend to chase cats, so a feline-free home would be best. I’ve even had experience with a baby in my foster home and have proven to be gentle and attentive. I’m highly food-motivated – tasty treats can get me to do almost anything, and I’ll happily drool to prove it! I’m also a great alarm system, letting you know when someone’s at the door. Squeaky toys, tug-of-war, bones, and frozen treats are my absolute favorites!

My foster family and trainer have been working hard to teach me new skills, providing structure and boundaries. I walk well on a leash and have excellent off-leash recall. I’m e-collar and muzzle trained, know many commands, and I’m a quick learner, especially when food is involved. I enjoy mentally stimulating toys and would love a yard for zoomies, but trips to the park are also a big hit! You can even follow my adventures on social media at @CadeTheBulldog! Ideal Home

A patient and loving home is a must. Ideally, this would be a home without cats, as I do tend to chase them. Previous American Bulldog experience is a plus!

Ongoing Health

I am healthy and have no known medical conditions.

Training & Support

I am very food-motivated and learn quickly! I know multiple commands, have excellent off-leash recall, and am e-collar and muzzle trained. I am a great alert dog when someone is at the door.

Transporation

I am located in Los Angeles, CA. We have successfully placed dogs with families out of state and even internationally, often through fun road trips! Approved applicants are typically expected to travel to Los Angeles to meet and transport their new dog home.
