Heidi is a three-year-old sweetheart with a heart as big as her story. She was rescued the day after Christmas after someone noticed -and bravely shared on social media- that she had been tied to a tree with no food, no water, no shelter, left in the cold and rain. Tragically, this had been her entire life for her first three years. Thanks to quick action and caring hearts, Heidi was saved and placed into a wonderful foster home where she is finally experiencing what love feels like. She is now receiving proper food, nutrition, warmth, and affection - things she had never known before. Watching her blossom has been truly incredible. Despite her past, Heidi holds no bitterness. She has lots of energy and joy, but she is also a total love bug. She adores cuddling, happily sleeps in the bed (especially under the covers!), and enjoys her toys and chew bones. Most of all, she loves being close to her people. Heidi is very playful and active and is so anxious to play with other dogs. She gets excited around them and would likely love a canine companion or regular playtime. We are unsure how she reacts to cats at this time. Heidi is searching for a forever home that will shower her with the love and attention she was denied for so long - a home where she will never be forgotten, ignored, or left behind again. Her cruelty case is unfortunately just one of many, but justice was served, and her previous owner was charged with animal cruelty. Now it's Heidi's turn for a happy ending. She is ready to give unconditional love to the family who chooses her - and she will cherish it with her whole heart.
