About Hyperlink
Meet Hyperlink (ACCT-A-253968)! This incredibly friendly and playful boy is looking for a home where his high energy and loving personality can truly shine. Found as a stray, Hyperlink quickly proved to be a shelter favorite with his endless supply of kisses and happy tail wags.
Hyperlink is a special pup who doesn't let being deaf slow him down one bit. He is extremely smart and has already shown that he understands sign language gestures for "sit" and "yes." He responds wonderfully to visual cues-give him a big thumbs up and watch his whole body wiggle with joy! He is also a gentleman on the leash, walking well and taking treats with a very gentle mouth.
While he can be a little surprised by unexpected touches, he is overall a loose, wiggly, and very social companion. He has been tolerant when meeting other dogs and is always curious about his surroundings. If you're looking for a smart, active, and affectionate best friend who will communicate with you in his own special way, Hyperlink is ready to link up with you!

Medical Notes:
Per his exam on 6/28, Hyperlink was noted to have no reaction to auditory stimulus. Due to this, staff noted that he is deaf.
Per staff on 6/27, Hyperlink is BAR (bright, alert, and responsive), and VERY friendly. He loves people, head and back scritches, and cream cheese. LESS IS MORE RESTRAINT. He needed A LOT of physical stimulation/pets everywhere as distractions from his vaccines, otherwise a perfect boy. He gets nibbly with hands when he's excited. He was in overall good condition.
Behavioral Notes:
Per staff on 6/28:
"Very high energy boy. Appeared to know and understand "sit" gesture and "yes" in sign language."
Per staff on 6/27:
"At the front of the kennel with soft eyes, ears forward and sitting. Easy to leash and slowly came out of the crate. Minimally pulled on the leash. Hesitated to go out the door from kennel, treat lure did not work. No hesitation going through the adoption lobby and out the main doors. Allowed all handling with loose and wiggly body, soft eyes and mid tail. Did not react when being called or noises made. Leash touched his side and he flinched. Used non verbal markers (taping the leash and waving hand in eye sight to get attention). When i gave him a thumps up he would get all wiggly. Took treats gently. Needed treat lure to go back into crate and removed leash with hand."
Dog meet notes on 6/27:
"Tolerant of being sniffed, some active avoidance and orientation to the environment"
Per staff on 6/27: "Walked into the eval room and all the dogs were standing in the crates barking, and he was sleeping. Suspecting he may be deaf.
His handler will add notes, based on my observations while he will do some flinching when touched, he is overall loose, wiggly and social, he can be foster and day trip."
Per staff on 6/27:
"Police brought in this dog they received a call about a dog tied to a tree. Dog was easy to leash, very hyper and playful. Dog walks well on leash with lots of tail wags and kisses. Dog is extremely friendly."
