Meet Arthur! He's a handsome 5-year-old, 78-pound neutered Staffordshire Terrier/Retriever mix with a big personality and an even bigger heart. Arthur is the perfect blend of adventurous spirit and affectionate cuddle bug. He was found roaming a park with other dogs and eventually brought to a shelter. Thankfully, a foster family stepped in to give him a loving temporary home, and now he's ready to find his forever family!
Ideal Home
Arthur thrives with regular exercise, structure, and lots of family time. He enjoys playtime and exploring, and would be happiest with people who love including their dog in everyday adventures. While he doesn't need another dog to be happy, he has successfully interacted with dogs of various sizes and reads their social cues well. He's also been around cats and pot-bellied pigs, showing curiosity without aggression, though supervision is always recommended. Arthur has spent time with a young child and did well, but due to his size and excitement, he could accidentally knock over a small child during play. A family that understands his energetic nature and can provide appropriate outlets for his enthusiasm would be ideal.
Ongoing Health
Arthur is a healthy boy who has been neutered.
Training & Support
Arthur is fully house-trained and crate-trained, settling nicely in his crate for extended periods. He rides beautifully in the car and absolutely loves "car rides"! He may pull at first on walks but settles into the routine and does well. Arthur is outgoing, playful, curious, affectionate, and incredibly sweet. He enjoys toys and soaking up attention and affection, and he firmly believes that "if he can fit, he can sit!"
