Rio

Meet Rio! This handsome young pup came to us with his mom, Amara, and ten siblings after transferring from the Chula Vista Animal Care Facility when he was just six days old. Rio is a gorgeous black beauty who is looking for a home that can provide positive guidance and direction. He does well following well-behaved dogs and would benefit from a good leader in the home. Due to his high prey drive, Rio will do best with dogs his own size or larger.

Ongoing Health

Rio was diagnosed with a valgus deformity (knock knee). Corrective surgery is not required. He may be more prone to developing arthritis later in life and is currently taking daily joint supplements. No changes in exercise are required for Rio in an average household.

Training & Support

Rio is still learning and will benefit from a home that can provide positive guidance and direction. He has a high prey drive and needs to be with dogs his size or larger.
