Meet Django!
This bright, two-year-old mixed breed is a thoughtful and curious companion with a sleek black coat and white accents. Weighing in at about 50 pounds, he's a medium-sized boy who builds deep bonds with his people and celebrates their return home with pure joy. Django is a smart, active dog who thrives on both connection and purpose. He loves to snuggle and lean in for affection once he feels safe and comfortable, and he also has a big love for adventure. Toys of all kinds are his treasures, and he enjoys fetch, walks, runs, and even swimming, often carrying a stick or ball proudly as if it's his job. His intelligence shines through in his eagerness to learn, and he already knows many cues like sit, stay, down, come, heel, place, leave it, drop it, no bark, and ok as a release cue.
Ideal Home
Django would thrive in a quieter, child-free and cat-free home, likely as the only dog. He needs an active family who understands reactive dogs and enjoys training.
Ongoing Health
Django currently takes daily Fluoxetine to help manage anxiety.
Training & Support
Django can experience fear-based reactivity to unfamiliar noises, unexpected distractions, or dogs on leash, requiring thoughtful management in public and a predictable routine. He also has a history of resource guarding with another dog around food, toys, or personal space, and there was one minor nip incident involving an unfamiliar person. Meeting guests outside first and allowing him time to warm up helps him feel secure. He continues to grow in confidence with structure, exercise, and patient guidance.
