DOTTIE

Dottie is a 5-year-old, spayed female Pit Bull-type dog, weighing around 49 lbs. She's a sweet, calm, and affectionate love bug who has been with us since mid-October 2025 and is eager to win your heart! Dottie enjoys calm car rides, fun sniffy walks, and is always ready for some cuddles and belly rubs. She's a fantastic walker and a super star on her "doggie day outs," demonstrating a friendly and composed demeanor around people, bikes, joggers, and other dogs in public settings. Dottie even knows "sit"! She can be a little shy and sensitive in new situations and may need a little extra time and calm reassurance to feel comfortable, especially during transitions. Once she builds trust, her loving, curious, and gentle personality truly shines.

Ideal Home

Dottie would do best with a committed adopter who can provide ongoing veterinary care and continue positive behavior management in a loving home. She may need slow introductions and the freedom to warm up at her own pace, and with patience and a steady routine, she blossoms into a wonderful outdoor companion.

Ongoing Health

Dottie has four chronically broken canine teeth that may require future dental care. She also had three mammary nodules removed at the time of her spay; histopathology was not performed, so future monitoring is recommended.

Training & Support

Dottie has shown some dog reactivity when in her kennel or behind the fence in the yards, but she does great on her walks. Management strategies are recommended, including kennel divider adjustments. She can be nervous at first and benefits from calm reassurance. While not highly treat-motivated, she enjoys an occasional snack, with string cheese being her favorite.
